My Privacy Policy

All individual therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, phone discussions, and email communications are confidential.

When a client comes to counseling, I explain clearly, and in detail, the nature of all services provided.   If psychological services are court ordered or otherwise mandated, I inform the client of the limits of confidentiality.

I do not reveal confidential information without client consent or without sound ethical justification. The general requirement that therapists keep information confidential does not apply when disclosure is required to protect the safety of clients or others from serious and foreseeable harm. Otherwise I will release information to other parties only if the client directs me to do so in writing.

If the client is a minor, I will obtain any disclosure of consent from the parent or guardian of the minor client, while taking care to preserve confidentiality, and I will refrain from disclosure of information that might adversely affect treatment.
